this was drawn freehand (meaning I didn't paint over or trace the reference photo)...intuos2 tablet...done on one layer....with the photo reference zoomed it at 400 % (to get all the details and for accuracy). It takes a long time...and has to be done in pieces...but I love the results.
I did take screen shots when I was painting the lips. If you are interested in seeing them just note me and I can email them to you.
I wish I could have taken screen shots of the entire process but...well...you know. *L* That would be a heck of a lot of screen shots. *L* There's (I think) 21 in a zip file for the lips.

The screenshots are a good idea but you might be better off using a screen capture prgram to make a movie file of your art - gives you the effect of pointing a camcorder at the screen. You could edit the non important parts out or speed up playback - then compress to a divx or mp4 file. That would give a better impression of your work I think.
Also could you please clarify the mothods you usded to creat this;I'm kinda confused about your technique though, how exactly did you use the photo reference? I absolutely love the way you did the hair, the highlights and general hair like texture/feeling are very well rendered.
What program did you use and just guestimating - how long do you think this took you?

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
